Cloud brokerages

What is a cloud real estate brokerage? Your office
is online.

Updated

A cloud brokerage runs online instead of from local offices. You work from home, get your tools and training on the web, and usually pay a published fee schedule that is the same everywhere. eXp Realty, Real Brokerage, LPT Realty, Fathom and Epique are cloud brokerages.

No card. Nobody calls you unless you ask. Your license stays where it is until you decide.

01How it differs

How a cloud brokerage is different

Five things change when the brokerage has no office.

Traditional office

Built around a building

  • An office to pay forIt shows up in your fees.
  • Each office sets its own feesTraditional franchise offices each set their own schedule.
  • A manager down the hall

  • One fee schedule for everyone
  • Online training and supportClasses, chat and a broker line.
  • Revenue shareMost pay agents for bringing other agents, across several levels.
  • Licensed in many statesA state broker still supervises you. The company runs nationally.

How AXEN does it

No split. You keep 100% and pay a flat fee per closing, up to a yearly cap.

No split. Flat file fee $500 a closing on Pro, capped at $6,000 a year. $1,000 on Elite, capped at $12,000.
After the cap, no file fee until your AXEN anniversary.
Admin fee $295 On every sale. Many agents pass it to the client.
Rev share 5 levels No quota. $100 a level on Pro closings, $200 on Elite. Not a promise of income.
Platform fee $50/mo Or pay it by the year, or from your first closing.
Every file Help A Deal Desk coordinator, state broker, training and support.
Every AXEN fee rule, in fullFile fees, small sales, leases, admin and platform, and more.
  • File fee: $500 a closing on Pro, capped at $6,000 a year. $1,000 on Elite, capped at $12,000. After the cap it is $0 until your AXEN anniversary.
  • Small sales: under $2,500 of commission, the file fee is 10% of it instead. A $2,000 check pays $200.
  • Leases, rentals and referrals: 10% of the commission, never more than $500 on Pro or $1,000 on Elite, plus a $50 admin fee.
  • $295 admin fee on every sale, even after the cap. Most of it pays your Deal Desk coordinator and state broker. Many agents pass it to the client.
  • Platform fee: $50 a month, $500 a year, or $600 taken from your first closing.
  • Rev share: 5 levels, no quota to unlock one. $100 a level on each closing by an agent on Pro, $200 on Elite, paid while that agent still pays a file fee. Not a promise of income.
  • Help on every file: a Deal Desk coordinator, a state broker, AXEN University training and live support.

Every file fee counts toward the same cap. AXEN is not the cheapest on fees alone for every agent: see the math against other brokerages. Want the full picture first? See AXEN in 8 short steps.

Questions agents ask

Which brokerages are cloud brokerages?

eXp Realty, Real Brokerage, LPT Realty, Fathom Realty and Epique Realty are among the best known.

Is AXEN a cloud brokerage?

AXEN runs online like one, but charges a flat fee per closing instead of a split, and puts a Deal Desk coordinator on every file.

Look inside before you move.

See the portal, the fees and the help.

Costs only, not an earnings claim. Your income depends on your own sales. AXEN fees as of October 2026; other brokerages’ fees as they published them in September 2026. Confirm every fee in writing before you sign. Revenue share is not a promise of income.
